调查显示，14个城市中，年龄在24至78岁之间的7,615名受访者中有59%倾向于房地产作为最首选的资产类别。
此外，67%的购房者寻求自住物业，而33%的购房者为了投资。35%的受访者偏好45至90万卢比的预算段房产，而28%的受访者偏好90万至150万卢比的房产。超过53%的购房者对当前的经济适用房选项表示不满，主要原因是位置、建筑质量和单元尺寸问题。
“印度的经济增长正在推动房地产行业的快速扩张，预计住宅市场到2029年将达到1.04万亿美元，年复合增长率（CAGR）为25.6%。这一增长主要由超豪华物业的需求和大量投资驱动，”FICCI城市和房地产发展委员会主席兼RMZ公司监事会主席Raj Menda表示。
公寓是最受欢迎的房产类型，占58%，但住宅地块在南部城市越来越受欢迎。
此外，57%的投资者表示，他们购买物业是为了赚取租金收入，这主要受城市租金上涨的推动。
SEBI执行董事Pramod Rao表示：“投资者信心对于行业的长期成功至关重要，而SEBI对透明度和治理的重视在这方面发挥了关键作用。”
Rao强调，强有力的合规性和更好的信息披露对于吸引机构投资至关重要。他还强调了SEBI的举措，包括一个单一仪表板数据库，以简化流程，以及将房地产投资转化为可交易金融工具的努力，以提高流动性和可访问性。
Rao进一步指出，政府有巨大的机会通过证券化来利用其资产，无论是州政府还是市政公司。“只要是有收入的资产，都可以纳入投资信托或房地产投资信托。国家公路管理局（NHAI）已成功将道路资产证券化。在不破坏财政审慎的情况下，政府可以释放更多潜力。”
Rao指出，超过50%的印度财富集中在房地产行业。全球范围内，房地产是最大的资产类别，价值超过300万亿美元。
他还提到，截至2024年3月31日，30家运营中的印度房地产投资信托（REITs）和基础设施投资信托（InvITs）的资产管理规模约为6.5万亿卢比。此外，10%到15%的印度A级空间由专注于商业房地产的REITs持有。
