Residents Allege Pressure and Fraud in SRA Scheme; MLA Sanjay Kelkar Intervenes
Real Estate News:Following complaints from two slum residents about pressure tactics and unauthorized surveys to evict people from the SRA scheme, MLA Sanjay Kelkar reprimanded officials over the phone, directing them not to cause injustice to citizens.

Residents from Thane city, Dombivli, and Ulhasnagar raised the issue in the public grievances hearing held at the BJP office, Khopat. The locals from Nalpada and Bhanjewadi, Thane, alleged that attempts were made to forcibly remove families who had lived in the area for years under the guise of the SRA scheme. Despite a police complaint, the residents complained about harassment.

They further alleged that the cooperative housing society work in Nalpada had begun without their consent, and surveys were conducted without approval. Kelkar immediately contacted SRA officials, warning them against unfair treatment. He assured residents that they would get the homes they rightfully deserve.

During the same event, students from the CDPA organization in Naikwadi complained of fraud. They stated the group promised loans for fees, training, and job placements, but failed to deliver. Instead, each student was burdened with a Rs. 2.5 lakh loan, incomplete training, and no employment opportunities. Reports suggest nearly 50 more students will file similar complaints. Kelkar assured the matter would be reviewed and a decision taken on Monday.

The public grievance initiative saw hundreds of citizens raise issues, including financial fraud, inheritance rights, job concerns, housing scams, and sanitation problems. Many cases were resolved immediately, while Kelkar assured that pending issues would also be addressed soon.
