Revanth Reddy Accused of Secret Alliance with Andhra CM on Godavari Water: Harish Rao
BRS leader T Harish Rao has accused Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of secretly allying with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on the Godavari water issue. According to Harish, Revanth is releasing water to Andhra Pradesh against Telangana’s share, which is a significant concern for the state's water resources.
Speaking to the media during his inspection of the Super Speciality Hospital in Warangal on Tuesday, Harish Rao accepted Revanth’s challenge to discuss the Godavari water issue in the Assembly. He also highlighted the failures of the Congress government in managing the Devadula Lift Irrigation Project effectively.
Harish alleged that Revanth is more interested in the real estate business than in the health and welfare of the people. He pointed out that the 90% constructed Super Speciality Hospital in Warangal has been left incomplete, despite the significant progress made during the BRS tenure.
During the BRS tenure, approximately Rs 7,300 crore was spent on the Devadula Lift Irrigation Project, which provided water to 3.20 lakh acres. However, at present, only six out of 10 motors are operational, lifting 1,700 cusecs instead of the intended 2,700 cusecs. The completion deadline for the project has been extended from 2025 to 2027, which Harish considers a significant delay.
Furthermore, Harish demanded that Revanth immediately start medical services in the 90% completed Super Speciality Hospital. He alleged that no staff recruitment has been undertaken, and the hospital lacks the necessary equipment and infrastructure, making it impossible to inaugurate the facility on June 2 as planned.
The allegations against Revanth Reddy highlight the ongoing tensions between political parties and the critical importance of water management in the region. The issue of water distribution and infrastructure development remains a pressing concern for the people of Telangana, and Harish Rao’s accusations add another layer of complexity to the political landscape.
As the debate over the Godavari water issue continues, it is clear that the people of Telangana are looking for leaders who prioritize their health and welfare over other interests. The upcoming discussions in the Assembly will likely shed more light on the matter and potentially lead to more transparent and effective governance.
