The Thevur police in Salem district have arrested a 60-year-old man and a real estate agent for the kidnapping of a four-year-old girl. The girl was safely reunited with her parents after a few days of being missing.

P Lokidass, a 60-year-old man, and K Kumar, a 48-year-old real estate agent, were arrested for the kidnapping.
The kidnapping took place on July 30 when the four-year-old girl went to a nearby anganwadi.
On August 4 evening, a two-wheeler rider wearing a helmet left the child near the Kumarapalayam police station, where the police rescued her.
Lokidass told the police that he kidnapped his granddaughter because he believed she had been beaten up and ill-treated by his son.
Both Lokidass and Kumar were remanded in judicial custody following their arrest.
