The state government has given administrative approval for a Rs 842.85 crore plan to upgrade six existing sewage treatment plants (STPs) in Pune. The upgrade will increase the total capacity from 451 MLD to 566 MLD, incorporating new technology as per CPCB standards.

The total cost of the STP upgrade plan is Rs 842.85 crore.
The six STPs are located at Bhairoba Nala, Tanajiwadi, Bopodi, Erandwane, Vitthalwadi, and near Naidu Hospital.
The expected increase in capacity after the upgrade is from 451 MLD to 566 MLD.
New technology will be introduced at the STPs as per the parameters set by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
The project is expected to be completed within the next few years.
