Telangana BJP MP Files HC Petition to Quash FIR Over Slapping Real Estate Broker
Real Estate:BJP MP Eatala Rajender has taken legal action by filing a petition in the Telangana High Court to quash the First Information Report (FIR) registered against him.
The FIR was filed last week at the Pocharam IT Corridor police station under the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate, following an incident where Rajender allegedly slapped a real estate broker.
The Lok Sabha member from Malkajgiri accused the broker of encroaching on land belonging to the poor.

On January 21, Rajender, a former state Minister, confronted a real estate broker in Pocharam village, located in the Medchal Malkajgiri district on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
According to the complaint filed by Gyara Upender, Rajender, along with about 30 others, attacked Upender, who was on security duty in Ekashila Nagar.
The real estate agent was accused of exploiting the poor by encroaching on their lands, leading to a heated argument which culminated in the physical confrontation.

The FIR was registered under sections 126(2), 115(2), 352, 351(2), read with section 189(2), and read with section 191(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act.
Rajender, in his defense, stated that he lost his cool because officials were not coming to the rescue of the common people.
He accused the police of losing respect for the government due to partisan behavior and claimed that they were forced to teach a lesson to the land grabbers.

Rajender added that he and his party will stand by the people and will not hesitate to take the law into their own hands if the police and revenue officials fail to act.
He alleged that some officials have colluded with real estate brokers to encroach on the lands of the poor.
Rajender had previously spoken to the District Collector and Police Commissioner about the land issue, emphasizing the suffering of the rightful owners.

Poor people in Narapalli and Korremula villages bought lands and built homes in 1985.
However, 149 acres of unused land have been resold multiple times, causing significant distress to the rightful owners.
Rajender claimed that false documents were created with the collusion of officials to encroach on the lands of the poor.
He demanded strict action against the officials who helped the brokers.

Rajender's political journey is marked by transitions.
He was earlier associated with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and joined the BJP after being dropped from the Cabinet in 2021 by then Chief Minister K.
Chandrasekhar Rao.
The drop came following allegations that he had grabbed lands from some farmers.
Despite these challenges, Rajender was re-elected to the Assembly from the Huzurabad constituency in a by-election in 2021 as a BJP candidate.
Although he could not retain the seat in the 2023 Assembly elections, he was elected to the Lok Sabha from Malkajgiri last year.

The BJP leader's petition in the High Court highlights the tension between law enforcement, political influence, and the protection of the rights of the poor.
His actions and the subsequent legal battle raise questions about the methods used to address land encroachment and the role of elected representatives in such issues.
