Telangana's Construction Sector Booms, Registers 11.97% Growth
Real Estate:Industries Minister Sridhar Babu announced that Telangana’s construction sector experienced an impressive 11.97% growth in the financial year 2024-25, contributing nearly Rs.80,000 crore to the state’s economy. The Minister made this statement while inaugurating a property show in Hyderabad, emphasizing that the sector remains robust despite claims of a slowdown.

Addressing the gathering, Sridhar Babu urged critics to look at the actual data. “I urge them to open their eyes and look at the actual data,” he said. The Minister highlighted that real estate currently accounts for 24.9% of the State’s service economy, a significant contribution that cannot be overlooked.

Furthermore, Sridhar Babu pointed out that there are currently 9,744 projects registered under RERA (Real Estate Regulatory Authority). He stated that these numbers are not mere statistics but a factual rebuttal to claims that the sector is slowing down under the Congress government. The Minister also cited the Knight Frank India report, which noted that in February 2025 alone, 5,900 homes were registered in Hyderabad.

Properties valued at Rs.1 crore and above accounted for 18% of all registrations, with the annual growth rate in this premium segment standing at an impressive 58%. This surge in high-value home sales is a clear indicator of the sector’s resilience and continued attractiveness to investors.

The Minister also highlighted the broader growth in the real estate and professional services sector, which recorded a 15.4% growth rate in the financial year 2024-25. This growth underscores the overall health and dynamism of Telangana’s economy, driven by significant investments and a favorable business environment.

Sridhar Babu concluded by reiterating the government’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for the construction and real estate sectors, ensuring sustainable growth and development for the state’s economy.
