TG RERA Imposes Heavy Penalty on Hyderabad-Based Builder for Non-Compliance
Real Estate News:The Telangana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TGRERA) has taken stringent action against a Hyderabad-based builder, Edifice Projects, for non-compliance with RERA regulations. The authority has imposed a penalty of Rs 15,29,416 on the builder for failing to register its La Bouquet Edifice project in Madinaguda. The TG RERA chairman, N Satyanarayana, has ordered that the penalty be paid within 30 days from the date of the orders.

Complainants Doppalapudi Anitha, Chalichama Deepti, Cherukuri Sudha Rani, and Doppalapudi Srinivas Prasad approached the TG RERA with their grievances. They had executed a development agreement-cum-Irrevocable General Power of Attorney with Edifice Projects to complete the construction of 10 villas on various plots, totaling approximately 3,000 square yards in Madinaguda. However, the builder failed to complete the villas within the stipulated 30 months, leading to significant delays and dissatisfaction among the complainants.

The complainants also raised concerns about the levelling and elevation of the villas, which the builder had built despite repeated pleas and deviations from the agreed specifications. They expressed their dissatisfaction with the overall construction quality, citing multiple defects and deficiencies in the villas.

Upon verification of the documents, the TG RERA directed the respondents to rectify the defects and deficiencies in the villas (Nos: 3, 4, 5, 9, and 10) following the specified standards and issued directions to the builder regarding the registration of the project. The authority emphasized the importance of compliance with RERA regulations to ensure the rights and interests of homebuyers are protected.

The decision by TG RERA underscores the regulatory body's commitment to maintaining transparency and accountability in the real estate sector. It serves as a strong deterrent to other builders who may be tempted to flout the rules. The authority has been proactive in penalizing non-compliant builders to ensure that the real estate market operates fairly and in the best interests of all stakeholders.

The TG RERA has been instrumental in addressing the grievances of homebuyers and ensuring that builders adhere to the stipulated norms. This recent action against Edifice Projects is a clear message that the authority will not tolerate non-compliance and will take strict action to safeguard the interests of consumers.

For homebuyers, this decision provides a sense of security and assurance that the regulatory body is actively monitoring and enforcing compliance. It also highlights the importance of choosing registered projects and builders to avoid potential legal and financial issues in the future.
