Real Estate Maharashtra:In a major crackdown on corruption, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested two top officials of the Maharashtra Archaeology and Museums department for their involvement in a Rs 1.5 lakh bribery case. Tejas Madan Garge, the director of Maharashtra Archaeology and Museums, and Aarti Mrunal Aale, another top official, were caught for their roles in the scandal.

Aarti was arrested for taking a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh in Nashik, while Tejas Madan Garge was arrested for showing his consent to accept his share of the bribe. According to the ACB, Aarti had demanded the bribe from a 32-year-old complainant who wanted a no objection certificate to start a factory unit in Nashik. The complainant filed a complaint with the ACB, which caught Aarti red-handed at her residence in Nashik.

The ACB directed the department to conduct an audit of all the decisions taken by Tejas Madan Garge and formulate policies to prevent corrupt practices. Cultural Affairs Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar signed the file for the suspension of Garge with effect from May 16, and an internal department inquiry will also be held against the director.

The Maharashtra Government has taken strong action against corrupt officials, and this incident is a testament to its commitment to eradicating corruption.
