Aarti was arrested for taking a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh in Nashik, while Tejas Madan Garge was arrested for showing his consent to accept his share of the bribe. According to the ACB, Aarti had demanded the bribe from a 32-year-old complainant who wanted a no objection certificate to start a factory unit in Nashik. The complainant filed a complaint with the ACB, which caught Aarti red-handed at her residence in Nashik.

Cultural Affairs Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar signed the file for the suspension of Garge with effect from May 16, and an internal department inquiry will also be held against the director.
