Traffic Resumes on Pune–Mumbai Expressway After Gas Tanker Crash Cleared
Lonavala, 23rd February 2026: Traffic on the Pune–Mumbai route has resumed its normal flow after authorities cleared a gas tanker that had crashed into a roadside barrier near the Amritanjan Bridge on Monday morning. The incident briefly disrupted movement toward Mumbai and caused long queues during peak hours.
Officials stated that the driver of the tanker had lost control of the vehicle before it struck the divider and came to a halt along the shoulder. As a precaution, traffic was restricted to limited lanes while emergency teams secured the area and ensured there was no safety risk.
Superintendent Tanaji Chikhale confirmed that there was no gas leakage and that the tanker was safely removed.
