An officer from Sewri police station stated that the accident occurred at 2:30 AM, approximately eight kilometers from the start of the bridge. The impact was so severe that the dumper swerved and hit the side railing of Atal Setu, causing the dumper driver to sustain injuries.
Majra, who was driving the car, died on the spot. The police found that he was the son of a real estate agent from Chembur, and the family was immediately informed about the incident. According to the deceased’s father, his son had attended a party and was returning home when the accident occurred. The BMW was taken on hire from an online portal.
