The victim died after he was attacked on Saturday evening by his three nephews and their wives, who used a sickle and iron rods to assault him. According to the Ambhora police station official, the family members have been embroiled in a boundary wall and pipeline dispute for several days. One such argument ended in the fatal attack on Devkar.

Devkar sustained serious injuries during the incident and was rushed to the hospital in Ahilyanagar on Sunday afternoon, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His son was also assaulted during the attack. The matter is currently under further investigation.

The police registered a case and arrested six individuals in connection with the murder. The accused include Ramdas Devkar, Rahul Devkar, and Santosh Devkar, along with their wives Kavita Devkar, Manisha Devkar, and Lata Devkar.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a 36-year-old farmer was reportedly mauled to death by a leopard in a village in Beed district. The incident occurred in the Bavi-Darewadi area of Ashti tehsil on Sunday when the victim, Rajendra Vishwanath Golhar, had taken his cattle for grazing.

Golhar, a resident of Bavi village, went to his farm in the morning and failed to return home. Suspecting a leopard attack, villagers alerted the forest department and local authorities, and a search operation was launched. Golhar's half-eaten body was found in the fields, confirming that he was attacked by a leopard.

Range Forest Officer Amol Munde confirmed the attack and stated that the post-mortem report is awaited. The police and forest authorities have urged residents to avoid venturing out alone after dark and have initiated steps to increase patrolling and awareness campaigns across nearly 15 surrounding villages.
