VFS Global Consortium to Launch 60 Modern Sub-Registrar Offices in Maharashtra
NEW DELHI: VFS Global, in consortium with WE Excel Software, has secured a five-year contract from the Inspector General of Registration (IGR) and Controller of Stamps under the Government of Maharashtra. The primary objective is to launch and maintain 60 model sub-registrar offices (SROs) across the state in a phased manner. This initiative is designed to modernize and digitally transform property registration services.
The consortium will undertake the end-to-end setup of these SROs to enhance the efficiency and transparency of property registration. These modern facilities will be equipped with advanced technology and streamlined processes to provide a better experience for citizens.
Ravindra Binwade, Inspector General of Registration (IGR) of Maharashtra, commented, "The Model Office Concept is a strategic initiative aimed at addressing the persistent bottlenecks in the current property registration system. These facilities will remain under strict government control and be staffed by departmental officials to ensure regulatory integrity. The primary goal is to reduce the crowded atmosphere often found in traditional offices and provide a more streamlined and efficient service to the public."
Citizens will have the flexibility to choose between these model offices or the standard services provided by regular SROs. This optional approach ensures that individuals can opt for the most convenient and efficient method of property registration.
