Water Cuts in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad: Maintenance Work to Affect Supply
Real Estate Pune:Residents in both Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad will face water cuts on Thursday due to maintenance work carried out by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). The work is essential for ensuring the long-term reliability of the water supply system. The chief engineer of the PMC water department has issued a statement regarding the situation, highlighting the affected areas and the duration of the water cuts.

The PMC is conducting maintenance works at various water treatment plants across the city, leading to city-wide water cuts. The affected areas in Pune include Peth, Kothrud, Koregaon Park, Kharadi, Shivajinagar, Swargate, Bibvewadi, BT Kawade Road, Phursungi, Hadapsar, Solapur Road, and both Pune and Khadki cantonments. Other areas like Aundh, Bopodi, Pune University, Law College, Karve Road, Himali Society, Pashan, Bhugaon, Bavdhan, Bhusari Colony, and Sus Road will also experience water cuts.

As a result of the maintenance work, most areas will face delayed and low-pressure water supply on Friday. The PMC has advised residents to store water in advance to meet their needs during this period.

On the other hand, PCMC's water department Executive Engineer Pramod Ombase informed that water cuts will be carried out due to essential electrical maintenance and repairs at the Nigdi water treatment plant. This interruption will result in no evening water supply following the morning distribution. Additionally, the water supply will be disrupted on Friday morning as well.

The Water Supply Department of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has appealed to all residents to save the available water from the Municipal Corporation and use it sparingly. They have also requested cooperation from the public to ensure a smooth process during the maintenance work.

For more information or any queries, residents can contact the PMC or PCMC helpline numbers provided on their official websites. The municipal corporations are working diligently to complete the maintenance work as quickly as possible to minimize inconvenience to the residents.
