Amitabh Bachchan Expands Real Estate Empire with New Alibaug Purchases
Real Estate Mumbai:Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has expanded his real estate portfolio by purchasing three properties in Alibaug, collectively valued at around Rs 6.6 crore, according to data from real estate analytics firm CRE Matrix.

The plots, numbered 96, 97, and 98, are located in House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL) Phase 2 in Alibaug’s Raigad district. All three plots were purchased from HOABL Landbuild Pvt. Ltd.

Among the three, Plot 96 is the largest, spanning 4,047 sq. ft, and was acquired for Rs 2.78 crore. Plot 97 measures 2,776 sq. ft with an agreement value of Rs 1.92 crore, while Plot 98, covering 2,734 sq. ft, was purchased for Rs 1.88 crore.

The transactions were registered on October 7, 2025, with a stamp duty of Rs 39.58 lakh and a registration fee of Rs 90,000, as per property documents.

This is not Bachchan’s first acquisition in Alibaug. In April 2024, the actor had purchased a 10,000 sq. ft land parcel from The HoABL for Rs 10 crore, in a project called ‘A Alibaug’, spread across 20 acres. Alibaug continues to be a preferred getaway destination for Bollywood’s elite.

Apart from Amitabh Bachchan, Suhana Khan (daughter of Shah Rukh Khan), Kriti Sanon, and Kartik Aaryan are among the other celebrities who own homes in the coastal town.

Earlier this year, in January 2025, Bachchan made headlines for selling his duplex apartment in Andheri, Mumbai, for a whopping Rs 83 crore, according to property documents accessed by SquareYards. In January 2024, he also bought a land parcel from HoABL in Ayodhya, as part of its luxury project ‘The Sarayu’, a 7-star mixed-use enclave near the temple area.

Reports suggest that the actor plans to construct a 10,000 sq. ft residence worth Rs 14.5 crore there.

The Bachchan family’s iconic Pratiksha bungalow in Juhu, the first property purchased by Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan after the success of Sholay (1975), was bequeathed to their daughter, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, in 2023. The family also owns other properties in Juhu, including Janak (used as an office), and Vatsa and Ammu, parts of which were leased to Citibank and later to the State Bank of India.

In 2021, Bachchan sold his Sopaan bungalow in Delhi’s Gulmohar Park for Rs 23 crore to Avni Bader, CEO of the Nezone Group. The 2,100-sq-ft property had once been home to Amitabh’s parents, Harivansh Rai and Teji Bachchan, before they moved to Mumbai.
