Baba Siddique was an NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister. He was well-known for his grand iftar parties and close connections with Bollywood stars.
The murder took place at Kher Nagar in Mumbai’s Bandra, outside the office of his son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique.
Three arrests have been made so far. The third arrest was of a 28-year-old man from Pune, identified as a co-conspirator.
Pravin Lonkar and Shubham Lonkar are the brothers involved in the case. Pravin has been arrested, while Shubham is still at large.
The investigation is ongoing. Fifteen police teams are searching for those who provided logistical support to the shooters, and the police are verifying the authenticity of a social media post claiming responsibility for the murder.
