The BMC will auction two properties instead of the initially announced four. The properties are located in Chunabhatti and Kalbadevi.
The base price for the plot of land in Chunabhatti is Rs 37 crore, and the base price for the privately owned house with shops in Kalbadevi is Rs 26.01 crore.
If the auction does not receive a minimum of three bids, the BMC may consider re-auctioning the properties.
Property tax is a significant source of revenue for the BMC, helping to fund essential infrastructure and services in Mumbai. The BMC aims to collect Rs 6,200 crore in property tax for the current fiscal year.
