The CBI registered FIRs against real estate developers following directions from the Supreme Court, to investigate alleged fraud and collusion between real estate companies and financial institutions. The probe focuses on the misuse of subvention schemes to defraud homebuyers.
The CBI's investigation involves real estate developers in Mumbai, Bangalore, and Kolkata. Additionally, the Supreme Court authorized the CBI to investigate cases in Mohali and Prayagraj.
The CBI has registered six FIRs as part of this probe, including two against Mumbai-based developers. These FIRs are in addition to the 22 ongoing cases already registered by the CBI in the Delhi-NCR region.
