The Mundhwa land deal controversy involves a ₹300-crore land transaction in Pune, where government land allegedly leased to the Botanical Survey of India (BSI) was illegally transferred to private parties. Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar has accused officials and private parties of orchestrating this deal.
The key parties involved in the Mundhwa land deal include government officials, private parties, and Amedea Enterprises LLP, a firm associated with Parth Pawar, son of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
Vijay Wadettiwar has demanded that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis file a criminal case against all officials and private parties involved in the Mundhwa land deal, alleging it was a planned conspiracy to usurp government land.
The alleged irregularities include the acceptance of a mere ₹11,000 as land holding value without proper approval, lack of basic documentation in the sale deed, and the use of outdated 7/12 extracts instead of City Survey property records.
Deputy CM Ajit Pawar has distanced his son Parth from the controversy, stating that Parth was unaware of the land's legal status. Ajit Pawar also mentioned that the inquiry panel led by additional chief secretary (revenue) Vikas Kharge would establish the facts.
