The 44th annual general meeting of CREDAI-MCHI, the apex body for real estate in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, brought together developers, investors and industry experts to deliberate on the road ahead for the region’s property market.
Infrastructure-led growth in MMR
Discussions centred on how ongoing infrastructure projects—metro corridors, the coastal road and the upcoming Navi Mumbai airport—are expected to improve connectivity and open up new micro-markets. Industry leaders noted that better transit links will support both residential and commercial demand across the region.
Housing demand and supply outlook
With a steady preference for ready and near-complete homes, the focus is on timely delivery and transparent pricing. Developers at the AGM highlighted the need to align new supply with buyer expectations, especially in the mid-income and affordable segments.
Policy and sustainability priorities
Leaders also called for continued policy support on single-window clearances, rationalisation of stamp duty and faster approvals for sustainable projects. Green building practices and climate-resilient design were identified as key priorities for future developments in Mumbai and MMR.
