Delhi Blast and Air Quality Crisis: Top News Headlines of November 11, 2025
Real Estate Mumbai:Top News Headlines of November 11, 2025 | At least nine people were killed and several others were injured in a blast in a moving car outside Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station in the Capital on Monday evening. There was no official confirmation on what caused the blast. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the investigating agencies were probing “all angles” and not ruling out any possibility.

After scanning more than 100 CCTV cameras, the Delhi Police said Tuesday they have found that the Hyundai i20, which was the source of the explosion, was first spotted at around 7.30 am outside Asian Hospital in Faridabad and later entered the Capital from the Badarpur toll booth via the Faridabad road at around 8:13 am Monday.

A sharp deterioration in air quality from ‘very poor’ to ‘severe’ has prompted the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to impose the third phase of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in Delhi-NCR. In a statement on Tuesday morning, the CAQM said, “The AQI of Delhi which was recorded as 362 on November 10, exhibited a sharp increasing trend and has been recorded 425 at 9 am on November 11 owing to calm winds, stable atmosphere and unfavourable meteorological conditions.”

The CAQM has issued several measures to combat the severe air pollution, including the suspension of construction activities, a ban on the use of diesel generators, and restrictions on the entry of polluting vehicles into the city. Schools and educational institutions have also been advised to limit outdoor activities to minimize exposure to harmful pollutants.

The authorities are urging residents to stay indoors and use air purifiers to maintain air quality in their homes. Health experts warn that prolonged exposure to such severe pollution can lead to respiratory issues and other health problems. The government is also considering additional measures to address the crisis, including the possibility of a complete lockdown if the situation does not improve.

As the city grapples with these twin crises, the Delhi Police and other law enforcement agencies are working tirelessly to identify the perpetrators of the blast and bring them to justice. The CAQM and environmental agencies are also closely monitoring the air quality and implementing measures to mitigate the pollution levels.
