Diana Penty's Timeless 100-Year-Old Colonial Home in Mumbai: Farah Khan's Awestruck Reaction
Real Estate Mumbai:Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan, known for her engaging vlogs with cook Dilip, recently paid a visit to actress Diana Penty's stunning colonial-style home in South Mumbai. The house, over 100 years old, once belonged to Diana's great-grandfather. In a city where real estate is a premium, Diana Penty’s two-storied house, complete with vintage furniture, floor-to-ceiling windows, a terrace garden, and a farm, left Farah Khan and Dilip in awe. Farah compared the living room to the grand hall of Shah Rukh Khan’s residence, Mannat, and suggested that Diana should invite SRK to her house.

In her latest vlog, Farah Khan playfully tells her cook Dilip that she has brought him to London, describing Diana’s home as a ‘huge Buckingham Palace’. Upon entering the two-floor residence, Diana explains that she lives upstairs, while her mother and other family members live downstairs. Farah is immediately struck by the colonial charm and antique furniture, exclaiming, “What is this place? I feel like I have travelled back in time and arrived at a colonial home!” Diana’s mother points out that most of the furniture in the house is over 100 years old. Farah, visibly impressed, jokes, “This is over 100 years old — still older than me! I’m so happy to be in a place where things are older than me.”

Diana also mentions that she has a farm outside the house, which adds to the serene and lush atmosphere. Farah remarks that it feels like they have come somewhere else, and that this doesn’t feel like Mumbai at all. Diana proudly states, “The house is 100 years old. Since my great-grandfather’s time — exactly 100 years ago. I am the fourth generation living here.” Farah then shows a glimpse of the terrace garden and the expansive living room with its beautiful décor. When Farah asks about the round table in the center of the room, Diana explains, “It’s been here since I was a kid! Someone gifted it to my grandfather or great-grandfather. I heard it might have come from a World War II shift.” Farah adds, “Yeh to Mannat ke hall jitna bada hai. (This is as large as Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat living room). I think you have to call Shah Rukh over here.”

Diana expresses her enthusiasm about the idea of inviting SRK to her house. On the work front, Diana Penty was last seen in ‘Do You Wanna Partner’ alongside Tamannaah Bhatia. Her colonial home stands as a testament to the rich history and architectural beauty of South Mumbai, offering a glimpse into a bygone era while maintaining a modern touch.

Diana’s home is not just a place of residence but a heritage site that has been lovingly preserved through generations. The combination of vintage charm and contemporary living makes it a unique and captivating space. Farah’s vlog has garnered significant attention, with viewers marveling at the grandeur and history of Diana’s home. It’s a rare glimpse into the hidden gems of Mumbai, where history and modernity coexist in perfect harmony.
