The new rule allows residents of Mumbai and its suburbs to register or adjudicate their documents at any of the six stamp offices in the city, removing the long-standing area restriction.
Mumbaikars can use any of the six stamp offices located in Borivali, Kurla, Andheri, Mumbai City, and the Principal Stamp Office near the Old Custom House.
The new rule was announced by Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule.
This change will save time, reduce the hassle of travel, and improve efficiency by allowing citizens to choose the most convenient stamp office for their document registration.
The new system will come into effect immediately after the government gazette notification was issued.
