On the occasion of Dussehra on Saturday, transactions worth crores of rupees were recorded in the jewelry, electronics, real estate, and vehicle markets.

Customers began flocking to the markets in the afternoon after performing puja at home. Despite the high prices of gold, there was a significant influx of people in jewelry showrooms, with many purchasing gold, silver, and diamond jewelry. Women, in particular, were seen in large numbers, preferring to buy branded jewelry. The jewelry market saw a bustling activity that extended late into the night, with the jewellers' association estimating transactions of around Rs 10 to 12 crore on Saturday.

The electronics sector also witnessed a surge in sales, with customers showing a strong preference for big televisions and the latest mobile phones. Many consumers also bought appliances such as fridges, ACs, washing machines, and music systems. The demand for these gadgets was driven by the festive mood and the availability of attractive deals and discounts.

Real estate experienced a 35 percent increase in transactions compared to last year, according to officials from the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI). The growth can be attributed to the announcements of investments by multinational companies in the city and the satisfactory rainfall. Many customers had pre-booked flats, bungalows, row houses, and plots, considering real estate a lucrative investment option.

The vehicle market also saw a significant boost, with more than 2,000 two-wheelers and around 150 four-wheelers sold. Customers who had pre-booked their vehicles took delivery on the occasion of Dussehra. Showroom owners reported a brisk sales trend, reflecting the positive economic conditions and increased consumer confidence.

Traders are optimistic that the festive season will continue to drive sales until Diwali, further boosting the local economy. The overall positive atmosphere and consumer sentiment have created a conducive environment for business growth and prosperity.
