Ganesh Utsav, also known as Ganesh Chaturthi, is a major Hindu festival celebrated in honor of Lord Ganesha. It marks the birth of Lord Ganesha and is celebrated over 10 days, starting from the fourth day of the Hindu lunar month of Bhadrapada.
Over 2.28 lakh modaks were ordered on Swiggy during Ganesh Utsav 2025, between August 26 and September 3.
Mumbai and Pune led the charts, followed by Bengaluru, Delhi, and Kolkata.
Nationally, Mawa Modak was the most popular, followed by Kesar Modak, Coconut Modak, Ukadiche Modak, and Kaju Modak.
Orders on the Swiggy platform tripled in just a day, increasing from 29,674 orders on August 26 to peaking at 1,02,045 orders on Ganesh Chaturthi, August 27.
