Hinjawadi IT Park Traffic Relief: PMPML Bus Stops Relocated to Ease Congestion
Hinjawadi, 4th March 2026: In an effort to tackle worsening traffic congestion in Hinjawadi’s IT corridor, authorities have relocated several major PMPML bus stops and implemented route adjustments to ease vehicular pressure during peak hours.
Hinjawadi IT Park, one of Pune’s largest technology hubs, witnesses a heavy inflow and outflow of vehicles every morning and evening, leading to prolonged traffic snarls. The steady rise in private vehicles, limited road width, and high-density office operations have placed immense strain on the area’s traffic infrastructure.
Major PMPML Bus Stops Shifted
The Hinjawadi traffic division has moved multiple PMPML bus stops that were previously located on key arterial roads and identified as bottleneck points.
The relocated bus stops include: Savtamali Mandir Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk Mezza-9 Tata T-Junction Wipro Phase 2 Circle Power House Station MIDC Circle
Officials observed that buses halting at these junctions were disrupting the steady flow of traffic, especially during office rush hours. Additionally, following the conversion of the stretch between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk and Phase 1 Circle into a one-way route, the bus stop located outside Persistent Company was removed to ensure uninterrupted movement along the corridor.
Metro Expansion to Influence Future Traffic Planning
Traffic authorities, in coordination with the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate, have indicated that further restructuring measures may be introduced once metro services in the Hinjawadi corridor become fully operational. With the continued expansion of IT firms and workforce numbers in the region, officials acknowledge that traffic management will remain a sustained challenge. Commuters have been urged to avoid wrong-side driving, refrain from unnecessary pick-ups and drop-offs near busy intersections, and strictly follow traffic regulations to support the initiative.
Meanwhile, the Forum for IT Employees has welcomed the changes, expressing optimism that bus stop relocations, one-way traffic systems, and upcoming metro connectivity will gradually bring relief to one of Pune’s most congested commercial zones.
