IHCL Expands Ginger Brand with New Hotel at Mumbai International Airport’s Terminal 2
The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), the largest hospitality group in India, has announced the signing of a new Ginger hotel at Terminal 2 of Mumbai International Airport. This development marks a significant milestone for the Ginger brand, which continues to expand its footprint across the country’s busiest aviation centers.
The upcoming 200-key Ginger Mumbai Airport T2 will be part of a mixed-use project that includes retail and commercial spaces. The hotel will offer a convenient and contemporary stay experience for travelers, featuring Ginger’s signature all-day dining restaurant Qmin, a stylish bar, meeting rooms, and a fully equipped fitness center. These amenities cater to both business and leisure travelers, ensuring a comfortable and productive stay.
Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development at IHCL, emphasized the strategic importance of the new hotel. “Mumbai International Airport stands as one of India’s busiest gateways, and the growing passenger traffic at Terminal 2 underscores the rising demand for hospitality across all segments. The signing of this new hotel gives the brand a dual presence at both terminals. With Ginger’s footprint across airports in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, MOPA Goa, and its proximity to the airports in Nagpur and Coimbatore, the brand continues to reinforce its position in India’s most vital transit hubs,” she stated.
Tunviey Mopalwar of Hazoor Multiprojects Private Limited, the development partner, added, “We are happy to partner with IHCL for this project and enhance the hospitality offerings in this prime location.”
With the addition of this hotel, IHCL’s Mumbai portfolio will now include 14 hotels, with two currently under development. The new signing underscores IHCL’s strategy to expand its presence in high-traffic business and travel corridors through its Ginger brand. This strategic move not only strengthens IHCL’s market position but also meets the increasing demand for quality accommodation in critical transit hubs.
The Ginger brand, known for its modern and efficient service, has been a driving force in IHCL’s expansion plans. The brand’s focus on key locations such as airports and business districts aligns with the company’s commitment to providing travelers with seamless and convenient stays. The new Ginger Mumbai Airport T2 is expected to be a significant addition to the company’s portfolio, further enhancing its reputation as a leading hospitality provider in India.
