Kangana Ranaut Opens Up About Selling Her Mumbai Bungalow Due to Emergency Delay Losses
Real Estate Mumbai:Kangana Ranaut's much-awaited film Emergency has been facing a series of delays, and it seems like the actress has had to bear the brunt of it financially. In a recent interview at the News18 India Chaupal event in New Delhi, Kangana confirmed that she had sold her Pali Hill bungalow in Mumbai due to the losses incurred because of the film's delay.

The actress revealed that she had put all her personal property on the line for the film, which was initially supposed to release on September 6. However, the film was postponed due to pending approval from the censor board. Kangana also mentioned that she had taken a loan of Rs 27 crore from ICICI Bank against the property in December 2022.

The bungalow, which was used as the office for her production house, Manikarnika Films, was sold for a whopping Rs 32 crore. Kangana had purchased the property for Rs 20.7 crore in September 2017.

The property had also been in the news earlier due to a controversy with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). In 2020, the BMC had demolished parts of Kangana's office in Bandra citing illegal construction. The demolition work was stopped midway after a stay order from the Bombay High Court.

Kangana also spoke about the delay in the Emergency release, stating that it was intentional and that some people were trying to hide the truth. She also mentioned that she had received threats from certain groups who were opposed to the film.

The film, which has been facing boycotts and ban calls, has been accused of presenting the Sikh community in the wrong light. However, Kangana maintained that the film was based on facts and that she had the proper documents to prove it.

The actress also expressed her frustration with the delay, stating that it was affecting her financially. She also mentioned that she had put her personal property on the line for the film and that it was time for her to take drastic measures.
