The apartments, spread over 2,188 sq ft, are located on the 57th floor of the tower, the same floor where his son Abhishek Bachchan recently acquired six apartments. Bachchan purchased the apartments from Incline Realty, a subsidiary of Oberoi Realty, for nearly Rs 7 crores. The deal was registered on May 29, with Bachchan paying a stamp duty of Rs 40.72 lakh.
This is not Bachchan's first foray into Mumbai's real estate market. Recently, he purchased three office properties in a commercial project in Oshiwara locality of Andheri, Mumbai's western suburb. The transactions involving the Bachchan family have created a buzz in the property market, as most celebrity deals were previously concluded in South, Central Mumbai, and prime localities such as Bandra, Khar, and Juhu.
