MahaRERA is a regulatory body established under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, to regulate and promote the real estate sector in Maharashtra.
MahaRERA is responsible for registering and regulating real estate projects, as well as protecting the rights of homebuyers.
Manoj Saunik is a 1987 batch IAS officer, who is currently serving as the principal advisor to the chief minister of Maharashtra.
Saunik's appointment as MahaRERA chairman is expected to bring in a new era of transparency and accountability in the real estate sector in Maharashtra.
