The plot in question is 6.40 hectares in size and is located in the prime seafront belt of Worli, Mumbai.
The plot is currently classified as a “dairy” in a “residential zone” according to the 1991 Development Plan.
The Maharashtra government plans to reclassify the plot from residential to commercial use and seek objections and suggestions before making the change in the Development Control and Promotional Regulations (DCPR) 2034.
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has been approved to prepare the draft planning proposals for the former dairy plot.
