The main goal of MTDC's EV charging station initiative is to promote sustainable tourism and electric vehicle adoption by providing convenient charging infrastructure at popular tourist destinations in Maharashtra.
MTDC is installing EV charging stations at 49 of its resorts across the state, with a focus on key locations near major cities like Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, and Nashik.
The Nagpur region will have the highest number of EV charging stations, with 13 planned locations. Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg regions will have 10 stations each, and Pune will have nine.
Private contractors will lease approximately 50 square meters of space at each resort, handle the setup, operation, and maintenance of the charging facilities, with initial leases lasting 10 years.
The deadline for submitting Expressions of Interest (EoI) for the MTDC's EV charging station project is June 4, with bids scheduled to be opened on June 5.
