In a significant boost for homebuyers ahead of the festive season, the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has approved 435 housing projects across the state. Of these, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) accounted for 201 approvals, signalling strong supply-side momentum in key property markets.
Thane and Mumbai Lead Approvals
Thane emerged as the top district with 70 project approvals, followed closely by Mumbai at 63. The clearance of these projects is expected to bring a fresh pipeline of inventory to the market, offering buyers more options in both suburban and island city locations.
Festive Season Push for Real Estate
The approvals come ahead of Diwali, a period traditionally considered auspicious for property purchases. With MahaRERA clearing projects across categories, developers are likely to accelerate launches and construction activity, while buyers can look forward to greater transparency and timely delivery assurances under the regulatory framework.
Industry observers note that the concentration of approvals in MMR underscores the region's continued dominance in Maharashtra's real estate landscape. The regulatory push is expected to instil confidence among investors and end-users alike, particularly in high-demand micro-markets.
