MahaRERA Certifies 4,165 Real Estate Agents in 5th Edition Exam
Real Estate:Mumbai The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has announced the results of the 5th edition of the Real Estate Agents examination.

Out of the 4,769 candidates who appeared for the exam, 4,165 have cleared the test, achieving a pass percentage of 87%. This is a slight drop from the passing percentages of the previous four exams, which were 96% (1st), 93% (2nd), 89% (3rd), and 86% (4th).

Of the 4,165 successful candidates, 3,553 are males, 612 are females, 196 are senior citizens, and 12 are senior citizen women. Sharad Mota from Mumbai and Divyesh Maheshwari from Pune have jointly secured the top rank with 100% marks.

With this latest batch, a total of 13,370 candidates have qualified to become real estate agents, including 4,165 from the latest batch, 405 from the maiden examination, 2,812 from the 2nd round, 4,461 from the 3rd lot, and 1,527 from the 4th edition.

In a significant move, MahaRERA has made it mandatory for new real estate agents, as well as for renewals, to undergo training and get certified. This decision was announced through an order on January 10, 2023.

Moreover, MahaRERA has taken strict action against agents who failed to meet the mandatory requirements. As of April-end, the authority had suspended the registration of over 20,000 agents who failed to complete the necessary training and certification by December 31, 2023.

In the real estate sector, agents play a crucial role in connecting homebuyers with developers. They provide preliminary information about projects to potential homebuyers, making them a vital link in the transaction process.

To ensure that agents are well-versed in the provisions of the RERA Act, MahaRERA has made training and certification compulsory. Agents are expected to provide accurate and reliable information about developers, projects, agreements, and other vital aspects, enabling homebuyers to make informed decisions.
