The road cave-in in Bhayandar was caused by negligence during construction activities, specifically the use of substandard materials such as rubble instead of concrete.
The developer was fined ₹46.5 lakh for the road cave-in incident.
The road reconstruction work will be supervised by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).
The municipal body has set a five-month deadline for the completion of all related civic work, including piling, pipeline installation, drainage, and water supply integration.
