The new foot overbridges are designed to enhance last-mile connectivity for commuters using the Mumbai Metro Green Line-4 and 4A, providing a direct and safe passage to metro stations from major railway stations.
The new foot overbridges are located at Wadala, Kurla, Thane, and Mulund, connecting these major railway stations to the nearby Metro stations.
The foot overbridges are equipped with elevators, escalators, and ramps to ensure accessibility for all commuters, including the elderly and differently-abled. They also feature LED lighting and CCTV cameras for security.
The increased foot traffic from the foot overbridges has led to a boost in the local economy, with businesses around the stations benefiting from more customers.
The MMRDA is responsible for the development of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and has been working on integrating various modes of transport to create a comprehensive and efficient transport network.
