Mumbai: A man posing as an Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer has duped investors of ₹17.74 crore in a massive real estate fraud involving forged government documents. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has taken over the investigation.

The main complainant is Mohammad Aslam Qureshi, a 45-year-old businessman from Mumbai.
The investors were swindled of a total of ₹17.74 crore.
Rupesh Prabhakar Chaudhary claimed to be a senior Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer with close ties to MHADA and MMRDA officials.
Qureshi provided photographs, WhatsApp conversations, forged documents, and financial transaction records as evidence.
The Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Mumbai Police, and Nashik Police are all investigating the case.
