A Vasai resident has been booked by Chembur police for forging documents to fraudulently transfer ownership of a Rs 50 crore property in Juhu, Mumbai. The accused used the name of a deceased person to claim the property.

The accused in this property fraud case is Vyadhar S Rao, a 47-year-old Vasai resident.
The police discovered the fraud after irregularities were found in a sale deed registered in June 2025 at the Chembur sub-registrar’s office. Officials found that the original property owner had died nearly two years earlier.
The property in question is located in Juhu Koliwada, Santacruz, Mumbai.
The accused has been booked under relevant Sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 82 of the Registration Act, 1908. He will soon be sent a summons by the Chembur police station.
