The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) is a metropolitan area in the Indian state of Maharashtra, consisting of the city of Mumbai and its surrounding suburban areas. It is one of the most populous and economically significant regions in India.
According to real estate consultancy Anarock, 24 land deals were recorded in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) in the first half of 2025, spanning over 433 acres.
The highest-value land deal in MMR in H1 2025 involved veteran Bollywood actor Jeetendra Kapoor and his family, who sold a two-acre land parcel in Andheri for ₹855 crore to NTT Global Data Centres.
The surge in land deals in MMR is attributed to the availability of land in the outskirts of Mumbai, where land is more abundant compared to the city itself. This has made the region attractive for residential developments and other purposes.
The total value of land transacted in H1 2025 across India stood at ₹30,885 crore, with a revenue potential of ₹1.47 lakh crore and a development potential of 233 million sq. ft.
