Mumbai: Police have apprehended Amir Khandwala, a real estate agent who duped a resident of ₹3 crore in a fraudulent property deal, ending a two-year manhunt.

Amir Khandwala is a real estate agent who was arrested by the Mumbai Police for duping a resident of ₹3 crore in a fake real estate deal.
Khandwala and his accomplices told the complainant, Mohammad Iliyas Buranuddin Sheikh, that two flats were available for sale at a discounted price of ₹3 crore. Sheikh made the payments but never received the flats.
When the complainant, Sheikh, demanded the return of his money, Khandwala threatened to kill him, forcing Sheikh to file a complaint with the Amboli police.
Khandwala was on the run for two years before he was finally arrested by the police on Sunday.
Buyers are advised to conduct thorough due diligence, verify all documents, and use trusted real estate agents to avoid falling victim to fraud.
