Mumbai: After two misidentifications, the main accused in the attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has been arrested from Thane. He has confessed to the crime, the Mumbai police said on Sunday.

Real Estate Mumbai:Mumbai After two unsuccessful attempts at identifying the attacker, the main suspect in the assault on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has been arrested from Thane.
The Mumbai police confirmed the arrest and stated that the accused has confessed to the crime.
According to the police, the briefing regarding the case will take place later at the DCP zone IX office at 9 am today.

The accused, who has been using multiple names such as Vijay Das, Bijoy Das, and Mohammed Iliyas, is currently lodged at Khar Police station.
He is a former waiter at a local restaurant, a crucial piece of information that aided in his identification and subsequent arrest.

Earlier, the police had detained a person in Mumbai and questioned him.
However, it was later clarified that this individual had no involvement in the case.
Yesterday, the Mumbai police also detained another suspect in Chhattisgarh.
The suspect was nabbed by the Raipur Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Durg, Chhattisgarh, while he was travelling by the Jnaneswari Express train.
The RPF handed him over to the Mumbai Police.

The suspect, identified as Aakash Kanojia, aged 32-33 years, was also under scrutiny.
The RPF shared a picture of the suspect to aid in his identification and arrest.

The attack on Saif Ali Khan occurred in the early hours of Thursday, when he was stabbed multiple times in his Bandra apartment.
The actor was immediately rushed to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital for treatment after sustaining major injuries, including stab wounds to his thoracic spine.

According to the hospital administration, Saif Ali Khan is doing well and has been moved from the ICU to a normal room.
The surgery, which involved removing a 2.5-inch-long blade, was successful.
Although Saif is currently 'out of danger,' medical staff continue to monitor his condition closely.
