The main reason is to monitor and control dust and air pollution levels at construction sites, as mandated by the Bombay High Court to combat rising pollution in Mumbai.
The monitors will be selected through the AutoDCR portal during the building permission application process and will be installed to display real-time data and transmit it to BMC’s centralized server.
Key features include live monitoring of PM2.5 and PM10 levels, on-site sirens and buzzers for alerts, and automated email alerts to site managers and project executives.
Non-compliance may result in the suspension of project approvals, stop-work notices, financial penalties, or complete site shutdowns.
CREDAI-MCHI will provide access to approved monitoring equipment, templates and toolkits for implementation, training programs, and organized site visits to pilot projects for knowledge sharing.
