The 'Mumbai in Minutes' initiative is a comprehensive plan by the MMRDA to reduce travel time and improve connectivity in Mumbai through the development of various infrastructure projects, including the double-decker flyover.
The double-decker flyover is expected to be completed by 2026.
The double-decker flyover will reduce traffic congestion by segregating high-speed and local traffic, allowing for smoother and faster movement of vehicles in the Andheri to Powai corridor.
The main contractors for the double-decker flyover project are a joint venture led by L&T and Afcons Infrastructure.
In addition to the double-decker flyover, the MMRDA is also working on the extension of Metro Line 6 and other urban development projects to enhance connectivity and reduce travel time in Mumbai.
