The new 5.25 km promenade along the Mumbai Coastal Road will be open to the public on August 15, 2023.

The total promenade is 7.5 km long, and the first phase, which is 5.25 km, will be open to the public. The remaining part will be opened in the future.
The new promenade is significant as it marks the first new major seafront public space in South Mumbai since the development of the Marine Drive promenade in the 1930s. It aims to enhance the quality of life for residents and provide a much-needed recreational space.
