NAREDCO Maharashtra's New Leadership and Digital Initiatives Drive Real Estate Growth
At the Change of Guard ceremony organised in Mumbai earlier this week, NAREDCO Maharashtra outlined a renewed development roadmap focused on rental housing expansion, digital integration, and policy reform for the real estate sector. The leadership transition formally saw Kamlesh Thakur, Founder and Managing Director of Srishti Group, take over as the new President, succeeding Prashant Sharma.
Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, addressing the gathering in his role as a senior industry representative, stated that achieving the goal of Housing for All would require stronger emphasis on rental housing supported by targeted tax incentives and supportive policy reforms. He added that while improving access to housing finance has supported affordability in ownership, structural innovation on the supply side remains essential to address diverse urban housing needs and sustain sectoral growth.
The organisation also introduced the NAREDCO ONE digital application, designed to bring developer members onto a single platform to improve coordination, communication, and operational efficiency. The initiative is positioned as a step towards greater digitisation within the industry's institutional framework.
In his address, Kamlesh Thakur outlined a forward-looking agenda focused on improving ease of doing business, accelerating digitisation of approval processes, and strengthening collaboration with government bodies to support faster industry growth. Outgoing President Prashant Sharma noted the progress achieved during his tenure and expressed confidence in the new leadership team, which also includes Jay Goenka as Secretary and Manan Shah as Treasurer. A panel discussion featuring senior industry leaders, including Parag Shah and Sanjay Dutt, highlighted ongoing structural shifts and market challenges in the real estate sector.
NAREDCO Maharashtra, a leading organisation in the real estate sector, plays a crucial role in shaping the industry's future. With the new leadership and strategic focus on rental housing, digital integration, and policy reforms, the organisation aims to address the diverse needs of urban housing and drive sustainable growth in the real estate market.
