Navi Mumbai Launches Special Campaign to Remove Unauthorized Banners and Hoardings
Real Estate Mumbai:Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has announced a new special campaign to remove unauthorized banners and hoardings across the city, in line with a court order dated 9th October (PIL No. 155/2021). This initiative will run from 25th November to 4th December 2024 and will be conducted across all eight departments of the Municipal Corporation.

During this campaign, unauthorized banners and hoardings, including those with expired permissions, will be removed. The cost of removal will be recovered as a penalty from those responsible. The Maharashtra Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 1995, prohibits placing unauthorized banners or hoardings in public spaces without proper permission, as it hinders the city's beautification efforts.

Citizens are strongly advised not to display banners or hoardings without obtaining the necessary permissions after the campaign. Violations will result in legal action under the Act. Suggestions or complaints can be submitted through the concerned department office, the Grievance Redressal Portal on the Municipal Corporation's website, the My NMMC app, or via WhatsApp at 8422955912.

Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde has urged the residents of Navi Mumbai to support this initiative, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the city's reputation as a clean and beautiful place. 'This campaign is crucial for preserving Navi Mumbai's image and ensuring it remains a pleasant place to live,' said Dr. Shinde.

In conclusion, the NMMC's campaign to eliminate unauthorized banners and hoardings aims to enhance city aesthetics and ensure compliance with regulations. Offenders will face penalties and potential legal action under the Maharashtra Prevention of Defacement of Property Act. Dr. Shinde appeals to the public for their cooperation to make this campaign a success.
