The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has set a target of collecting Rs 1,000 crore in property tax this year.
The NMMC has collected over Rs 500 crore in property tax in the first seven months of the financial year from April to October.
The NMMC used various methods such as online links, direct debit, credit/debit cards, cheques, and ATMs to facilitate property tax payments.
Digital payments played a significant role, accounting for Rs 313.70 crore out of the total Rs 500.11 crore collected.
The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) collected Rs 810 crore in property tax, achieving 95 per cent of its target.
