Pallavi Joshi Reveals the Major Challenges Behind 'The Bengal Files'
Real Estate Mumbai:Mumbai, Aug 24 (IANS) Actress-producer Pallavi Joshi, who is eagerly awaiting the release of her upcoming film ‘The Bengal Files’, has opened up about the challenges she and her husband, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, the director, encountered while making the project.

The actress-producer recently spoke to IANS at her residence in the Andheri area of Mumbai during the promotional run of her film. She shared, “The biggest hurdle that we faced was realizing we couldn't shoot in West Bengal. If you're talking about ‘The Bengal Files’, at least a portion of it has to be shot in the state. However, we were denied permissions, so we had to put up a set in Bombay. Most of this film has outdoor locations.”

The production costs soared due to Mumbai’s dynamic economy, real estate, and expenses. She elaborated, “So, we had to put up a huge outdoor set. We had to create roads and buildings depicting the town of Noakhali. It was an art direction nightmare, and we also knew that there would be several VFX extensions.”

‘The Bengal Files’ is based on the Direct Action Day, a significant event from one of the darkest chapters of modern India. The film aims to bring these events to light. It stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, and Darshan Kumar. The film is written and directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri and produced by Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi, and Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri.

Presented by Tej Narayan Agarwal & I Am Buddha, the film is a worldwide release by Zee Studios and is set to hit theaters on September 5, 2025.

Despite the challenges, Pallavi and her team remain committed to bringing the historical narrative to the big screen, ensuring that the story of the Direct Action Day is not forgotten. The film promises to be a gripping and thought-provoking experience, showcasing the complexities and nuances of a critical period in Indian history.
