Pesky Calls from Finance and Realty Sectors on the Rise
Real Estate:New Delhi A staggering 95% of mobile subscribers have reported receiving pesky calls every day, with a significant majority getting three or more such calls daily. According to a recent survey by Localcircles, an online survey firm, most of these unwanted calls are coming from the financial services and real estate sectors.

The survey, which received 71,000 responses from citizens in 371 districts of India, found that 66% of mobile subscribers say they get the majority of pesky phone calls from different mobile numbers belonging to individuals, while 18% say they come from mobile numbers belonging to companies and brands.

Despite being registered on the Do Not Disturb (DND) list, 96% of mobile subscribers confirmed receiving pesky calls in the last 12 months. This number has increased from 90% six months ago, indicating a decline in the effectiveness of the DND service.

The survey also found that 88% of respondents reported receiving the highest number of spam phone calls from the financial services and real estate sectors in the last 12 months. The percentage of mobile subscribers receiving pesky calls from the financial services sector has risen from 54% to 66% in the last six months.

These findings are a cause for concern, as they highlight the need for stricter regulations and enforcement to curb the menace of pesky calls.
