Pune Railway Ticket Inspector Surpasses Rs 1 Crore in Recoveries, Detects Over 12,000 Cases
Pune, 20th March 2026: A Chief Ticket Inspector (CTI) in the Pune Division of Central Railway has crossed ₹1 crore in ticket checking recoveries for the current financial year, with the milestone achieved on March 15, 2026.
S. M. Dhamne recorded total recoveries of ₹1,00,04,980 through ticket checking operations, detecting 12,020 cases of ticketless and irregular travel during the period. Railway officials said the recoveries were made as part of ongoing intensive ticket checking drives conducted across the division to curb unauthorized travel and prevent revenue loss.
Dhamne joined railway service on November 2, 1987, with his initial posting at Daund. Over the years, he has served at stations including Ahmednagar, Kurduwadi, and Solapur. He was transferred to the Pune Division and took charge as Chief Ticket Inspector in October 2025. For the past 16 years, he has been associated with ticket checking squads, working on enforcement drives across stations and trains.
The Pune Division has been conducting regular checks to ensure compliance with ticketing rules and reduce instances of ticketless travel. Passengers have been advised to travel with valid tickets to avoid penalties. This initiative not only helps in maintaining the financial health of the railway system but also ensures a fair and orderly travel environment for all passengers.
